Flexi Lease Limited has been operating as a fully owned subsidiary of South Canterbury Finance Limited since 1989. It has branches in Auckland and Christchurch and has supplied cars, vans and light trucks on operating leases to businesses throughout New Zealand .

 

The Board of Directors consider that whilst there is synergy between Flexi Lease and finance companies in the Group, the competitive vehicle leasing industry is not core business for the Group going forward. The Board considers that the Group should concentrate on consumer, rural, business, plant and equipment and property sector lending through its regional subsidiary offices. As a result, it is with regret that I am advising you that Flexi Lease will stop leasing vehicles and manage existing fleet through to the termination of the leases when the vehicles will be sold. 

 

Flexi Lease will initially retain a team of nine staff to manage and operate the business over the wind-down period of three years. This means that all current leases with Flexi Lease will run their full course as per the Lease Agreement. Current ‘12x12x12’ leases will also continue with Flexi Lease, with each subsequent lease being written by the wind-down staff. The wind-down staff will operate from Auckland and Christchurch branches.

 

The Board and Management would like to thank you our customers for your support and loyalty, in some cases, over more than 15 years. It has certainly been appreciated.
